Try Paid Apps on Android Before Buying Them

android

The Android Operating system is the most widely used smartphone operating system in the world. It is a successful platform due to the open source apps and software you can run on this platform. So rather than discussing the merits of the Android platform, let’s get to the topic and sole purpose of this post. There are many apps in the Google Play store that you need to pay for. Often times, people end up buying them and after buying they realize that it wasn’t worth the price. So, in this post, I will show you a trick to try the premium and paid apps before actually buying them. After trying the apps, you can decide if it is worth the buy or not. So let’s start.

Amazon Market:

This is a pretty easy solution to the problem. Amazon has all apps that are available on the Android Market. The Amazon Store has an option that allows you to try the apps before you buy them.  Hence, by simply using the Amazon market, you could try the app first before buying it.

Try the Apps:

So as you might know, unlike Amazon, Google won’t allow you try the apps before you buy them. However, even Google has a loophole which might save you from wasting your money on an app that you didn’t like after buying. You can buy an app from the Android Market, and then if you don’t like the app, you can ask for a refund for your money. After asking for the refund, you will be refunded and the app will automatically be uninstalled from your device.

Refund the Apps:

So the solution with the Google Play store is also pretty good to get your money back if you don’t like the app you just bought. So follow these steps to get your money refunded.

  1. Visit the Google Android Market from PC or Phone, and buy any paid / premium app from there.
  2. Install the app on your device, and take a test run of it right away.
  3. Now, if you are not happy with the app, you can go back to the Market and in the “My Apps” select the app you bought. Next, select “Refund”, and then the app will automatically uninstall from your device.
  4. At this point, the the app will uninstall and you would be asked reason why you did not liked the app. You can say anything. However, I recommend that you be honest as it will give good information to the developers on what needs to be improved with the app. Next, you will get an email from Google saying that you are not charged.

This is a pretty decent method, as 10-15 minutes should be more than enough to try an app and make a decision on whether you need it or not. However, you should keep in mind some rules of this “Refund” process.

  • Keep in mind that you only have 15 minutes to make a decision. After that, you’ll not get a refund.
  • You can only refund an app once in a lifetime.

So these were a few tricks to try out the paid and premium apps on the android market before buying them. I hope this helped!
