Razer Blackshark v2 vs Logitech G Pro X Gaming Headset Comparison

A good pair of gaming headphones can significantly impact a gamer’s performance. Not only will they allow you to communicate with team members effectively, but they’ll also be comfortable, which is a necessary requirement for anyone looking to sink into several hours of play.

The market is awash with headphones, but not all are worth your money. Two that are very much worth your hard-earned cash are the Razer Blackshark v2 and Logitech G Pro X headphones, both of which are highly rated and come with plenty of welcome features that make them excellent options for all levels of gamers.

Side-By-Side Comparison

The Razer Blackshark v2 and Logitech G Pro X headphones share plenty of similarities. They’re both extremely well-built and comfortable and offer a ton of features that make them two of the best headphones around.

Of the two, most would argue that the Logitech headphones are more comfortable. The steel frame and soft leatherette ear cups give the impression that you’ll still be using the headphones years after the first use, too. The Blackshark v2 headphones have mesh fabric ear cups, which are comfortable but maybe slightly less so than the leatherette cups of the Logitech G Pro X. Both headphones come with a standard 3.5mm connection and a USB plug for connection to a computer.

As far as performance goes, you’ll struggle to find two better-functioning headphones. Realistically, the sound and microphone capabilities of these two headphones will be more than enough for casual gamers and perhaps even for more serious gamers, too.

The performance of both of these headphones can be tweaked using the brands’ respective software (Logitech G Hub; Razer Synapse), allowing gamers to customize their headphone experience.

One last thing to keep in mind is the price. The Razer BlackShark V2 is quite a bit cheaper than the G Pro X. Right now, both headsets are on sale and you can pick up the BlackShark v2 headset for about $100 less than the G Pro X.

The Gamer View

It wasn’t just critics who loved the Razer Blackshark v2 and Logitech G Pro X headphones. Gamers did too.

The Logitech G Pro X has an average rating of 4.4/5 from nearly 8,500 reviews. The majority of buyers applauded the quality of the sound and the build, and the value for money. Negative comments generally have to do with minor things; for example, the volume button produces a beeping sound when it hits max volume.

The Razer Blackshark v2 headphones have an average rating of 4.6/5 from nearly 9,500 reviews. Commentators typically mention the quality of the sound and comfort of the ear cups as major plus points. There are no overwhelmingly negative comments for these headphones, though some users did say that they had to tweak the settings in Razer Synapse to get their preferred experience.

The Bottom line

It’s hard to look past the view that both of these are great headphones. The majority of gamers could buy one or the other at random and be happy with their purchase. In all likelihood, it’ll come down to brand preference. Logitech and Razer are two of the best gaming hardware manufacturers in the business, so you can trust that you’re getting great headphones at a very reasonable price.
