How to watch prime time shows online (free and paid)

Decades ago, watching TV was a family event. When TV was new, the whole clan would gather around a furniture sized television and watch together. These days it’s a major part of our everyday lives. It’s as essential to us as eating and breathing.

These days our television sets are flat and large and you no longer even have to use them to watch your favorite primetime TV shows. You can use your laptop, tablet or phone. In fact, a recent study shows that 61% of young adults in the U.S. mostly watch streaming TV.

So what are the best ways to watch your prime time shows online when you don’t want to use your TV? We’re here to answer that question. There are more ways than ever to watch your shows and these are just a few.

Free

Network TV websites

Believe it or not, ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX offer most of their shows for the amazing price of free. The big four offer them on their respective websites. What they have varies depending on which network it is. Some don’t have the latest episode for a short period after it premieres on the network, but they usually offer three to five recent episodes, which is normally what people are after. Getting caught up on your favorite show for free is just awesome.

HULU

Hulu.com offers network shows, as well as regular content from several cable channels, the offerings rotate to keep things fresh. Hulu is popular all over the world, even Hulu in Canada is a popular streaming platform. As this streaming service has such a wide variety of content, there are new viewers all the time. They also offer originally produced content as well. Like the network TV websites, they have a catalog of recently aired episodes of shows. If you want more there is a paid version of the site called Hulu Plus, which we will go over below. At the moment, this content is only available in America but you can learn how to watch hulu in australia and elsewhere by using VPNs to change your online location.

Paid

HULU Plus

Hulu Plus is the paid version of Hulu. It’s very affordable at only $7.99 a month. With HULU Plus you get access to a broader selection of TV series episodes, rather than being limited to recent episodes. They even have full seasons of some TV shows. It may not have as broad of a selection as Netflix, but users love it. For more info on HULU Plus check out this informative article.

Netflix

Netflix is an online streaming service that costs between $7.99 -$11.99 depending on what plan you want. Netflix has an amazing selection of prime time TV shows and movies that you can watch online. They also offer a wide variety of original movies and TV series that you can’t find anywhere else. You’ll find full episodes and full seasons of many shows here. There is a reason that it is the biggest streaming service in the world.

Amazon Instant Video

Amazon’s Instant Video is part of Amazon’s Prime service. If you have a Prime membership you have access to Amazon Instant Video for free. You can find full episodes and full seasons of many TV shows here. They have a large selection of shows, although not as many as Netflix. And like their competition, they also offer many original series of their own. If you have Amazon’s Prime service, which gives you free shipping on select orders for $99 a year or $9.99 a month, this is a great bonus that comes along with it.

Google Play and iTunes

Both Google Play and iTunes have a great selection of primetime TV series. They will usually cost you about $2 per episode. They have both individual episodes or full seasons available. Your money doesn’t go as far as it would with Netflix or Amazon Instant Video, but it’s always nice to have another option.

These are just some of the options that we have today when it comes to watching the shows that we love online. There are other options available, but we feel that these are the best. It’s nice knowing that you can always watch your shows even away from the old TV.
