Ready and Excited for Battlefield 4

Over the past few weeks, I have had the chance to play the Battlefield 4 Beta. Like all betas, there are a few bugs and even some performance issues. I am sure these issues will get worked out before launch though. I had the chance to play the BF3 beta and it had much worse issues in its beta period than BF4 does right now. Even with these issues, the game was still very fun, which is a great sign for a beta.

Battlefield 3 was my first time playing a game in the Battlefield series. I have been more of a counter-strike and Call of Duty player before trying Battlefield 3. I decided to give this game a try since it was on sale and I was not disappointed. The graphics were far and away better than COD. Also, I found game-play itself very fun. It really had something for everyone with both large and small maps and tons of different game modes.

Also, if you are looking to play with friends, the squad-based play really enhances the experience. If you are unfamiliar, you can essentially setup a 4 man squad. Your squad can then work together to accomplish the overall team goal, whether it be capturing a flag or taking out a specific target. Overall, I really enjoyed, (and still do), battlefield 3.

Based on my experience with the beta, I can tell already that Battlefield 4 is going to be more of the same, but with improvements. The graphics seem to be improving slightly. Also, there will be a few new game modes and many new weapons. They have said they are also going to continue to improve upon what they call “Levolution”. This essentially is a fancy word that means you can change the level/map you are on during game-play. For example, if you hit a building with a rocket, the front of the building may start to crack or even completely fall off. This was a part of BF3 and is supposed to be even more evident in BF4.

If you enjoy controlling vehicles (tanks, helicopters, Humvees, etc), then you will be happy with the fact that DICE has said they are adding and improving vehicles in Battlefield 4. One specific example they give is that they are adding the capability for water based vehicle battles.

Based on my experience with BF3 and the BF 4 beta, I decided to go ahead and pre-order the game. By pre-ordering now, you get the first expansion pack for free and you also get the BF4 battlepack. If you are going to get the game anyways, you might as well get the free expansion, china rising, and the battlepack.
